day in the life.

a question i get a lot from people (mostly that don't have kids, & sometimes that dear husband of mine), is "What do you do all day?" Shocking as it may seem, being a stay at home mom isn't a luxurious vacation full of movie watching, nail painting, & book reading. here's a sample of a typical day in the life at the williams' residence!

6:30 am: wake up to aubrey crying, change her diaper, make a bottle, feed her a bottle, & rock her back to sleep. go back to sleep myself!

7:30-8:30 am: aubrey has decided it's time to play! throw my robe on, change her diaper, put her in her swing while i hurry & throw some clothes on & eat some breakfast.

8:30 am-10:30 am: aubrey's bath time, put her in an outfit, (usually with some sort of bow or flower of course), cuddle with her in the rocking chair until her hair is dry & she is warm.

10:30am-11:30am : first nap of the day! rock her to sleep, 30 minute workout, shower, get ready for the day, sometimes put on makeup? lol

11:30-12:30pm: aubrey wakes up, change diaper, feed her bottle, & then play time on her bouncer or play gym. pictures sometimes? :)

12:30pm-3:00 pm: second nap of the day! this one's usually longer. this is when i clean the house! bottle cleaning, dishes, counter wiping, swiffering, vacuuming, bedmaking, laundry, dusting, etc! i also prep for dinner & get the table all set. if aubrey hasn't woken up & all that is done, i catch up on some tv, read some girl magazines, or lay out in the sun, BLOG, do my hair if i haven't yet, have a friend visit, pull weeds, etc.

3:00-4:00pm: aubrey wakes, diaper change, feed her, play with her since it's been a whole 2 hours since i've seen her and already miss her so much! :) sometimes we'll watch a baby einstein together or just lay on the bed & giggle at each other. she's happiest after her second nap so i usually snap some cute pictures.

4:00-5:30 pm: steve usually calls & says he is on his way home (unless it's a late working night), i put aubrey somewhere to play while i cook dinner. then i try to freshen up my makeup so i look decent for the hubby, i don't want him to come home to a scrubby wife haha!

the rest of the night until bedtime aubrey is usually in steve's arms. we have dinner, read scriptures together while cuddling with aubrey, go on a walk to the park behind our house, watch some DVR'd tv show, etc. & then put aubrey down for the night.

{obviously there are days where the schedule is NOT like this, & she boycotts naptime, or spits up all over herself causing a second bath, etc but this is pretty much how our days go! very simple but i love it & wouldn't want to be anywhere else doing anything else.}

  1. I think its so funny when people ask me this! I feel like the list is always long and babies are very needy and so are mommys :) so it really does take all day to get the house in order, make dinner and make a baby happy! :) Im glad you're loving your life as a mommy and wife!
