aubrey's first dentist visit.

Before I became a stay at home mama, I worked at a dental office for five years and absolutely loved it.   I was SO excited to get to schedule Aubrey's first dental visit and she did so great!  I took her to a kid's dentist because I wanted her to really love going to the dentist.  They had video games, tons of toys, and got to watch a movie while she got her teeth cleaned.  She looked like such a big girl in that chair and she was so proud to be in the "No Cavities Club".  Probably because the kid brushes her teeth a bazillion times a day - don't ask!  She loves getting her teeth "tickled"!

(Yes, I brought my humongous camera just to take pictures of her at the dentist.)

  1. I love that you took your huge camera for this!! It's such a big deal though when they have all their "firsts" so I totally get it! And yayyy for her in the no cavity club! How cute she loves "tickling" her teeth!

  2. It’s good to know that Aubrey’s first visit was a success. You must be very proud of her. Usually kids are anxious when they're at the dentist’s office. But I guess your experience in working at a dental office before became very helpful. Hope she enjoys her future visits to the dentist from now on!

  3. Great job Aubrey. No cavaties and you brush your teeth all the time - what a girl. Mum great for you to take pictures because now both of you can look back and recall that first visit - great memories. Keep up the great work.

  4. Congratulations to Aubrey for getting a clean bill of health! She is such a pretty and brave girl! She seems so at ease while the dentist is checking her teeth. I bet you are so proud of her.

  5. Aubrey did really well on her first visit to the dentist. I am still scared going to the dentists. Contrast my first visit to today, and it is night and day. We did have any things to play with props like sunglasses, staff trained on dealing with kids, etc... My mother I do not believe came into the room with the dentist and surely did not take pictures. Today's environment is so much better, and sets the kids up with the correct mental outlook about dentistry and oral hygiene.

  6. Awww! Aubrey looks so adorable in the photos. Her golden ribbon looks really beautiful on her. Anyway, I'm glad she wasn't such a handful. She actually looks like she was enjoying the whole experience. I'm so glad she had no cavities. Way to go Aubrey! :)

  7. It’s great to know that Aubrey is already developing a good oral hygiene while she’s still young. Kids these days would often neglect brushing their teeth after eating a lot of sweets, ruining their teeth in the process. Learning that she has no cavities must’ve been a proud moment for you. Good day!

  8. That dental office sounds absolutely amazing! I wish that I had televisions to watch and toys to play with when I was a kid going to the dentist. It sounds like your daughter had a great experience at the office and I'm sure this will set her up for a lifetime of some amazing and healthy teeth that are well taken care of.

  9. Loving this post and how you explained everything. There are a lot of reasons to go to the dentist and to make sure your teeth look great. I have always found that whitening my teeth and visiting the dentist both go hand in hand. I've always recommended people to find a dentist who they feel they can be comfortable with all the time.
