sunshine after the rain.

If nothing else, I'm good at coming up with lame titles.  Anyway, wow!  It's been a month since my last post. There really hasn't been too much to report - it's Steve's busy season at work, (which is such a blessing, but man do we miss him on his late nights) so we haven't been doing anything too crazy around here. A park trip here, a play date there.  My days look pretty similar to each other, and you'd think that would get old, but somehow, some way, I never tire of getting up every morning ready for a new day of filling up sippy cups, changing diapers, folding laundry, and playing a lot of Old Maid.  I'm constantly reminded how fast these little girls of mine are growing up, and I'm just enjoying these days of having nowhere to be, and just getting to run our own schedules and taking as much time as we need to get out of jammies and into real clothes.

We've had a pretty rainy week, (which California needs!  Desperately!) and one day after it rained all day long, the sun came out in the early evening, and Aubrey said, "Can we PLEASE play outside now?  It looks like Summer outside!"  Even though it was sopping wet outside, I couldn't say no to that poor girl who had been cooped up inside the house for days.

We spend a lot of time outside. (weather permitting)  Chalk, bubbles, and their train roller coaster is the recipe to their happiness!

A rare sight - Kate smiling and looking at the camera.  She's so cute I can hardly take it.

The puddles on the cement make a big splash as she came down her roller coaster.  She thought it was pretty awesome - like Splash Mountain at Disneyland.

Aubrey helping Kate wash her hands after getting wet chalk all over them.  My little mother hen.
